LÖDIGE: YOUR PARTNER FOR EXCELLENT PROCESSING OF POLYSACCHARIDES

Due to their unique physical and chemical properties, polysaccharides play a central role in a wide range of industrial applications. These include the construction, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and textile industries. Their processing involves a number of technical processes - including physical and chemical modification to achieve specific properties or the production of derivatives.

LÖDIGE is a leading manufacturer of process equipment for the production of polysaccharides such as cellulose or starch ethers, dextrins and for gluten separation. We support our customers as partners - both in the development and in the processing of their industry-specific tasks.

High energy costs, the need for effective solvent recovery and compliance with strict environmental and safety standards - we understand the challenges of the polysaccharide processing industry. We also understand that each company and each production process have unique requirements.

That is why we have been providing individual advice and tailor-made solutions for decades. LÖDIGE machines and system solutions support a wide range of processes - including mixing, reaction and drying - and thus help to increase efficiency and improve quality.

TAILOR-MADE PROCESS TECHNOLOGY FOR THE
ADVANCED PROCESSING OF STARCH AND CELLULOSE

LÖDIGE offers tailor-made process solutions for special applications involving starch and cellulose. The modification of starch includes a variety of process steps that are specifically designed to modify the properties of starch.

These include mixing starch with liquid reagents such as dry cationisation (to produce cationic starch), carboxymethylation, fermentation and dextrinisation. In addition, other processes such as dough making, gluten separation of wheat starch and treatment of potato pulp are used.

The production of cellulose derivatives also requires defined steps which can be optimally realised in LÖDIGE equipment. These include chemical reactions in the reactor, conditioning or granulation of cellulose/cellulose derivatives and stripping for solvent recovery. During stripping, gases or vapours are introduced into the product to remove the volatile components from the mix.

CUSTOMISED STARCH MODIFICATION: FROM CONCEPT TO GLOBAL DELIVERY

The starch modification steps used to achieve the desired product properties are based on the targeted combination of solid, liquid and gaseous reactants, product temperature, reaction times and, if necessary, pressure/vacuum.

In close cooperation with our customers, we carry out projects in which the machine designs are defined and finally delivered to the customer according to plan. The technical design of the pressurised equipment is made in accordance with local regulations so that we can serve our customers worldwide.
